1. Traditional colored cabinets. Although tempting as it might be, you shouldn't choose trendy colors for your cabinet! You should stick to an old-fashioned and timeless color to ensure it won't go out of fashion. White cabinets never go out of fashion! Some other colors we're not sure will ever become trendy include navy blue and black. Another option to think about is mixing colors of cabinets! It is possible to use one color for the base cabinets and one that is lighter for the top cabinets. You can also paint all the cabinets around it using one color, while your islands are in an alternative hue. You could even mix wood tones to give an inviting atmosphere and add in some textures.
2. The built-in pet food and water bowls! If you have a pet, have you thought of a better spot to keep their food and water bowls? They will always get in the way, and people knock them down, and the water goes everywhere on the floor. What's more? These can fit to the bottom of your cabinets or be used as a pull-out drawer that fits inside your toes! There's no need to worry about walking in them or spilling your drinks on the floor! They're hidden away, and you aren't required to be looking at them.
3. Large pendants hanging over the island. It's what we say "Go big or go home!" This is true for lighting too. Always opt for bigger lighting fixtures than you think you will need, believe us! The larger pendants can make your kitchen appear bigger and will really make it look more stylish! They'll make a big statement rather than using a couple of tiny lights above the island. The days are gone of the small pendants. Utilize two big lights or, if the space is massive, go with three.
4. Spice drawers! We can't describe how handy having drawers designed to store your spice collection is. Instead of putting them into a cabinet and then not being able to locate what you require, it is a good idea to consider buying an apron drawer for your spices. They come with little angles that the spices are placed on, and you will be able to observe everything when you open them. Additionally, you can pull out cabinets to your stove for quick access to the spices. Did we mention that it's extremely beneficial to label them alphabetically? It's true! Try it!
5. A trash bin that can be pulled out. It is a common feature in kitchen remodeling; however, it really does help to keep clutter out of your kitchen and helps keep all smells in a safe place. It's a commonplace to put your recycling bin to the side of the trash to ensure everything is together. While you're at it, here's a second tip for garbage. Make a pile of trash bags that you have left in the bottom of your trash can. So when you empty out your entire bag, you'll have a spare immediately.
